O.G. Kurb Is Taking Fort Lauderdale’s Sound From Broward to Television

O.G. Kurb has spent years making sure Fort Lauderdale is heard beyond Broward County.
Known as Mr. Lauderdale, the rapper and songwriter has built a catalog around South Florida’s humor, street language and personality while expanding into major collaborations, songwriting and television placements.
His 2025 record “Tendernism” has become one of his latest momentum records, backed by a From The Block performance that put his animated delivery and personality front and center.
Kurb’s résumé already includes collaborations with Boosie BadAzz on “Bust It Open,” Sukihana on the remix and Tafia on “Dope Money.”
His reach grew even further through Issa Rae’s Max series Rap Sh!t.
Across the show’s two seasons, Kurb contributed as both a performer and songwriter, with credits connected to records including “Freak a Leak,” “Collins Ave” with BEAM, “Molly Poppin,” “Goin On A Drill” and “Call Me Daddy.” Those releases connected his work with HBO, Raedio and Def Jam Recordings.
Production collective The Breed also recognized Kurb’s songwriting ability and credited his guidance during the Rap Sh!t writing camp with helping them secure multiple placements.
That versatility has become one of his biggest strengths.
Kurb can step into a room as an artist, collaborator or songwriter while still maintaining the Fort Lauderdale identity that built his name.
